Rapper AJ Nelson wins big award from fans fueling his passion for music

Yes it too is an award, in fact, the biggest of them all and I cannot begin to tell you how I so much appreciate it very dearly,” says rapper AJ Nelson to TheAfricanDream.net in a phone interview.

He spoke from his base in Ghana in response to how he felt about not earning a nomination for the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) — “I respect the VGMA which is in its 20th year in 2019, but I also respect my fans a lot more for their loyalty.”

I have come this far because of the faith my fans had and continue to have in me, they have continued to fuel my passion with their love all these years and I do this for them. Sure it will be nice to win an award but for now, every time my biggest award is handed to me every time I see my fans from across the stage appreciating my work for what it is,” rapper AJ Nelson reiterated.

Seemingly unbothered by the VGMA snub, the rapper whose most recent work has been highly acclaimed by respected Ghanaian Publicist like Elorm Beenie and preferred to focus on appreciating his fans instead.

“I have been blessed with a recent successful album launch, a media tour at the Fizzles Platinum Lounge inside Dansoman, Accra that came off the heels of an amazing performance with international acts at the Asabaako Music Festival at Takoradi, Ghana where I had the privilege to entertain and earn newer fans.

One of the tracks off my new album is also a theme song for the award-winning #TheAfricanDream show aired on Fairfax Access Public TV in the United States produced by Oral Ofori. I feel really blessed and at the right time, I know more rewards and awards will follow. For now though it’s all about good music,” said the Afrocentric rapper.

Catch rapper AJ Nelson on his next tour at the Zen Gardens inside Labone located in Ghana’s capital city of Accra on April 13, 2019. Check him out as @AJNelsonMusik on social media portals like Instagram and Twitter to be updated on his event calendar.
