Parables Animation Studios & France Volontaires Ghana are steering a new African narrative

The management of French nonprofit organisation France Volontaires Ghana (FVG) and Parables Animation Studios (PAS) based in Accra, Ghana are actively talking about a potential partnership arrangement that is expected to be a “worthy collaboration to enhance the narratives of Ghana/Africa,” according to sources.

In a key partnership meeting represented by Cycil Jones Abban, Managing Director of PAS, Albert Tetteh Amafu, Projects Director/Acting Chief Operating Officer of PAS, Justine Gegout, Communications and Partnership Relations Officer of FVG, and Belinda Banoenumah, Immediate Past Volunteering Development Office of FVG, the two organisations deliberated on the conditions of their new alliance.

“Our discussion focused on how to use the creative arts, in particular cartoons, animation, and children’s theatre, to significantly affect social and behavioural change and to promote culture and tourism, in Ghana, in Africa and eventually an extension to the diaspora,” said the organisations in a joint statement to TheAfricanDream.net.

The main drivers of this relationship, as far as FVG is concerned have been PAS’ accomplishments during the past ten years. Among its many notable accomplishments, PAS created the first-ever animated feature film in Ghana, ‘28th the Crossroads, which was based on actual events that sped up the process of Ghana’s independence. The premiere covered by TheAfricanDream.net in February last year stated according to PAS that the film project, the first of seven titles is intended to present history in a fun way and offer an educational tool for children.

FVG believes in this, and indicated that projects like this will go a long way to portray Africa in a new light to the observing world around it.

The organisation is the French platform for international volunteering for exchange and solidarity. It acts as an Operator of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, bringing together the State, local authorities and associations around a mission of general interest. The platform relies on a presence in France, including overseas, and on a network of Volunteer Spaces deployed on four continents.

After the meeting, PAS and FVG representatives paid a courtesy visit to the Legendary Alex Bannerman (Managing Director of Akroma Production Limited and Director for Ghana’s first animated commercial). “It was an exceptional time, full of exciting and inspiring throwbacks as well as what to expect in the future,” said Abban to TheAfricanDream.net.

“2023 at Parables Animation Studios will be like never before witnessed,” he concluded

You can follow the animation studio on all social media platforms and also subscribe to KOLIKO+ TOON CINEMA and their YouTube channel, PARABLES STUDIOS, for exhilarating projects.
