One Night in Vegas poised to raise bar for African movies

A new era has been born for the Africa movie industry by Koby Maxwell’s KM Productions. The multi-talented artist from Ghana says he is taking the movie industry of the continent to new heights with his new production—’One night in Vegas’—to be world premiered at the National Navy Museum in Washington DC on September 13, 2013.

There will be a 5pm screening and an 8pm screening of the premier to be followed by a question and answer segment afterwards. The red carpet event will be hosted by Chardelle Moore a Kali TV anchor, model, speaker, and also former Miss Caribbean in the USA. Producer Koby Maxwell says this movie gives him the ultimate platform to display his multi-talented career portfolio built over the years.

Koby is a gifted bass player, singer, lyricist, actor, composer and producer who brings a unique blend of talents to this colorful and historic movie executive-produced by his production firm; KM Productions, in association with RVI Motion and Jet Media Productions. The movie editor is Tim Wilson and directed by John Uche.

One Night in Vegas was story-lined by Koby Maxwell who tells me that this project is like his personal baby and he is excited to watch it grow. The movie follows the life of James Foster who is played by Ghanaian actor John Dumelo; winner of the 2011 Africa Most Outstanding Actor and 2012 Best African Actor Award.

James Foster who is faced with marital difficulties and issues from his past decides to take a trip to Vegas to escape from his daily struggles and also revive his relationship with his wife played by award winning Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson.

The couple tag along their trusty bodyguard played by Jimmy Jean-Louis who is best known for his role on the NBC Television Series HEROES. What seems to be a perfect getaway quickly unravels into a twisted tale where friendships are shattered, new relationships form and lives are changed from just ‘One night in Vegas’. KM Productions is working to ensure that this historic movie is also premiered in Africa as Koby tells me that his fans in Ghana will soon have a taste of this film as well.

This movie will be the first African movie to be translated into Spanish and French. According to KM Productions it is going to be packed with romance, a series of life changing events, and action packed drama starring A-list Nollywood, Gollywood, and Hollywood actors from Nollywood golden boy Van Vicker, former Miss Haiti Universe and Queen Hiapanoamerica 2012 Sarodj Bertin who is also an international model. There will be special appearance of the well known US based Ghanaian comedian Michael Blackstone and many more.

In 2011 Koby Maxwell along with Van Vicker starred in ‘Paparazzi—Eye in the dark’ which was selected as best movie in the African Movie Academy Award (AMAA) and selected for screening by The Pan African Film Festival Awards in Hollywood. This year, One Night in Vegas seeks to raise the bar a little higher says Koby Maxwell who currently resides in Maryland USA.
