Ambassador Hajia Mahama joins moslem community to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, Festival

Her Excellency (H.E.) Alima Mahama (Hajia), Ambassador of the republic of Ghana to the United States joined the Haskay Moslem Community in the Washington D.C. Metro Area for the celebration of the festival of Eid al-Fitr. The Eid al-Fitr prayer was held was on May 2, 2022 at the Patawomeck Park in Stafford county, Virginia.

Haskay is a Group of Ghanaian Muslims in D.C. metro who have come together to establish a masjid, they were joined by their female counterparts the Jenna ladies.

Habib Mohammed, the President of the Association, welcomed H.E. Alima Mahama who was accompanied by Hajia Ayishetu Shani Mahama a staff of the embassy of Ghana.

Eid al-Fitr, the Festival of Fast-breaking is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.
