Taylor Brown Entertainment Promotions & Entertainment LLC (TBE) is a US based talent management and promotional agency that assists upcoming artistes and well established ones with the management and promotion of their careers.
Taylor Brown, CEO of TBE originally from Detroit Michigan recently granted an interview in which she got to talk about her experience, background and what drives her.
Some of her experiences are in image consulting, branding, artist development, directing, producing, script writing, business, and accounting. Taylor says her romance with the entertainment industry begun when as a youngster she worked at hosting events, heading up promotional deals, performing poetry, and eventually writing plays for churches and schools.
Then In 2010, she took a trip to Ghana to visit a colleague in that west African nation. That was where the desire to jump headfirst into the entertainment business was awoken. While in Ghana Taylor enjoyed listening to the different musical genres there from reggae, hip life, dance hall and high life.
By the time she made her second trip to Ghana the following year, she ventured into teaching artistes how to expand their talent by being knowledgeable about things like performance, how to maintain their image in accordance with whatever brand they are hoping to create and how to properly sell themselves to the public through social media.
“Some of the Ghanaian artistes whose brands TBE has helped worked on and promote are Pope Skinny, D-Black, Blaq Boy, Qwame Decash and very recently AJ Dahottest among a host of other non Ghanaian artistes” says Taylor Brown.
On the reach of TBE, their CEO says “work is under way to expand into other parts of the globe in our attempt to create partnerships and franchises. For now, the business has partnership in the USA, Ghana, Jamaica, and the UK where clientele is composed of very well established artistes to newer ones that are working their way to the top“.
Through their contacts and networking channels, TBE has brought many listeners from around the world to African music through their two US based radio station affiliates.
In their long endeavor to have international radio plays for West African music and musicians, Twin Radio and Spinsyndicate Radio were some of the first stations that accepted music from TBE.
AJ Dahottest who for over 3 weeks in April 2014 held the #1 spot for best rapper in Ghana on ReverbNation.com is a client of TBE. It appears the young entrepreneur has her eyes set on bigger accomplishments. She says what TBE is right now happens to be only a tip of the iceberg of what she intends to achieve in the entertainment industry.
“We want to get more music of and from Africa out there and help provide the opportunity for these genres to compete on the global level by advising, producing and awakening their performers to their rights as artistes on matters like copyright ownership and intellectual property protection.”
“Music is a language, it is a universal language and it always carries a message, one however does not need to understand or speak the language of music, we as humans simply need to feel it because it is the only way we can positively express it” Taylor Brown believes.
