Tall Ghana expands following successful launch in Accra
Following its debut “The Elevated Circle: Tall Ghana” event on May 21, 2026, in Osu, Accra, and a second Accra edition on June 4 in East Legon, Tall Ghana continues to expand. It has also announced that a third gathering is already planned for July 20 at Starbites in Kumasi.
What began as a simple idea to connect Ghana’s tall community has now evolved into a growing social and networking movement bringing together professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives, members of the diaspora, and individuals looking to connect through shared experiences.
Founded by media personality, documentary producer, and cultural strategist Ivy Prosper, Tall Ghana was inspired by the daily experiences of living as a tall person. She’s been 6 feet 1 inches tall since she was 15 years old. She was also inspired by the growing international popularity of height-based social events and by the recognition that many tall Ghanaians share similar experiences navigating everyday life.
“I thought about this in 2022 but held the idea until now. This was the perfect time,” Ms. Prosper said.
“What we discovered is that this isn’t just about height. It’s about community. People enjoyed meeting others who understood their experiences and wanted opportunities to continue those conversations. Right after the first event ended, people were asking when the next one was going to take place.”
Tall Ghana encourages participation from men who are 6 feet and above and women who are 5 feet 9 inches and above, although the events are open to everyone. “We had three short ladies join us to experience what it was like to be around all these tall people in one place.”
From standing out in crowds and struggling to find properly fitting clothing to constantly being asked whether they play basketball, tall individuals often share common experiences that transcend profession, age, and background. The events provide an opportunity for those experiences to become the foundation for new friendships, professional relationships, and community connections.
The concept arrives at a time when niche communities and curated social experiences are becoming increasingly popular around the world. Rather than traditional networking events, many people are seeking spaces built around shared lifestyles, identities, and interests.
Guests attending the June 4 event can expect an evening of networking, social activities, entertainment, music, conversation, and community-building in a relaxed environment.
Organizers say the vision extends far beyond Accra. Future plans include regional meetups, wellness experiences, fashion collaborations, travel experiences, and the possibility of expanding into a broader platform across the continent. As interest continues to grow, Tall Ghana is positioning itself as more than an event series it’s becoming a community.
