Inkoom: My agent never discussed my MLS move with Ghana media

Ghana national team player Samuel Inkoom has expressed his disappointment in the poor standard of journalism being practiced by a section of individuals in the Ghanaian sports media.

The DC United right back said recent stories in the Ghanaian media surrounding his alleged trade to another Major League Soccer (MLS) team — Houston Dynamo — have been factually inaccurate.

“It was drawn to my attention that on December 28, 2014, some websites in Ghana had publications about me which stated that my agent is unaware of a transfer involving me. This is simply not true”, Inkoom said.

“As far as my agent and I are concerned, Houston Dynamo went through the appropriate channels in their attempts to secure my service. We are however yet to find an agreement with them. I therefore wonder why publications will put together a story when they have not gathered any of the facts”.

The agent of Samuel Inkoom, Christian Emile, on December 28, 2014 said on his twitter page that he had not spoken to any journalist about his player’s movement in the MLS and that “the comments attributed to me in the Ghanaian media regarding Samuel Inkoom’s proposed move to Houston Dynamo are completely inaccurate” Christian said.

“I have not spoken to any journalist about this issue and to clarify, Houston Dynamo conducted their approach in the correct manner, however there has been no agreement reached” according to the manager.

On his call to the Ghana national team, Inkoom revealed he is “very grateful for yet another opportunity to prove myself in service of my homeland . I am very happy for the show of confidence and excited to prove to Avram Grant that he made the right choice”.

Despite his disappointment with the inaccurate representation in Ghana of his move in the MLS, Samuel Inkoom says he continues to remain positive, thanking his fans for their support and the opportunity he has to play club soccer in the USA and for Ghana’s senior national team the Black Stars.
