Chellee Walker talks Africa On The Avenue 2024 on VOA

Oral Ofori, founder of TheAfricanDream.net, and media partner of District Bridges successfully coordinated an interview on Thursday, May 2, at the Voice of America (VOA) studio for Chellee Walker to discuss the Lower Georgia Avenue Main Street and its event, Africa On The Avenue 2024 happening this May. The interview was conducted by veteran VOA journalist Peter Clottey.

Mr. Clottey interviewed Ms. Walker about her job as the District Bridges Lower Georgia Avenue Main Street‘s Manager in the Washington DC metro area of the United States among others. Ms. Walker in response shared how small businesses have a special importance to her.

She said since moving to the Washington metro area, she has worked for and supported them, and is super excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Africa On The Avenue program, acknowledging how important it is to the African community. The event is scheduled for May 18, and TheAfricanDream.net is a media partner.

Mr. Ofori on his part shared Ms Walker’s excitement, and appreciated Mr. Clottey for the interview. He mentioned that it is “always a plus” for TheAfricanDream.net to tell and share the African narrative with a global audience. “The objective is to make a positive impact on the international community, Africans or not,” said Mr. Ofori.
