Charlotte Muziri crowned Miss Zimbabwe Queen 2022

Charlotte Muziri was crowned Miss Zimbabwe Queen 2022 after winning eleven other contestants at the inaugural pageant.

The pageant was held at the Harare International Conference Centre on Saturday, September 10, after a four-year hiatus, because of the global Covid-19 lockdown.

She won a new VW vehicle from PanJap Motors, among other prizes. Gina Dee Mutemeri came in as the first runner-up, while the second runner-up was Stacy Hall.

Muzuri will also now have a chance to represent Zimbabwe at international competitions like Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Intercontinental, Miss Model of the World, and Top Model of the World.

Former Miss Zimbabwe winners since 1980 were present, to represent the inaugural ceremony. The pageant was launched by former queens, Tendai Hunda and Hilda Mabu.

“What’s important is having all the former Miss Zimbabwe contestants since 1980. I am at a loss for words. It has been a while since we had a national pageant in Zimbabwe. So, we feel this is the beginning of a revolution. This marks the beginning of Zimbabwe’s global status,” said Tendai.

“I have watched a lot of Zimbabwean contests and I really felt this should be Zimbabwe’s date. We are just young women who want to empower other women and I hope next year it will be bigger and better. Zimbabwe will be on top at all stages,” she added.
