Africa Night Out Gala & Awards will celebrate youth empowerment

The International Youth Network for the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 (IYNUNSCR 2250) in partnership with Rediscover Africa will host the Africa Night Out Gala & Awards on September 13, at the Eden Gardens Banquet in Pennsauken, New Jersey, United States, to celebrate youth empowerment.

The event will mark the beginning of the 11th Session of the Global Youth General Assembly, themed “Youth in Decision Making.” The gala assures an evening of cultural celebration, youth empowerment, and recognition of impactful contributions bridging Africa and its diaspora.

Hosted by IYNUNSCR 2250, an organization dedicated to advancing the principles of UN Security Council Resolution 2250, the event aligns with the resolution’s mission to amplify youth voices in decision-making processes related to peacebuilding and development.

“This year’s Africa Night Out Gala & Awards is a celebration of youth empowerment and a platform for showcasing the impactful work of young leaders in bridging Africa and its diaspora,” said H.E. Rev. Lady Dr. Lilian Sally Addo, Global President of IYNUNSCR 2250.

“We are proud to have the support of esteemed organizations like the Diaspora Affairs Office of the President of Ghana and the Embassy of Ghana in Washington D.C.,” she added.

By celebrating African heritage and recognizing outstanding contributions from African and Caribbean communities, the gala strengthens cultural ties and promotes cross-border collaboration.

The full event will run from 6:00 PM to midnight, but will feature a vibrant red carpet and cocktail reception from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by an evening of authentic African cuisine, live performances, and cultural showcases.

Attendees can expect captivating music and dance from renowned artists, including Eto’o Tsana from DR Congo, Souarey Store from Mali, Synga Splash from Jamaica, and Ekonomixx from Sierra Leone, as announced in the event’s official promotional details.

George Kwasi Bright, Director of Media-USA for IYNUNSCR 2250, emphasized the event’s value for attendees, in his statement, “Attendees will benefit from being part of this dynamic event by networking with like-minded youth leaders, learning about opportunities for youth in decision-making, and being part of a global community that values African heritage and diaspora connections. Building on the success of the immediate past edition, we’re excited to see the growth and impact of our youth network.”
