Rhythm Nation’s debut concert will feature Ghanaian Afro Pop, Highlife & Reggae legend, Kojo Antwi AKA ‘Mr Music Man’ and his band, live in Washington D.C from September 24 – 25.
The concert will hold at Karma 222 Adams Place, NE DC 200018, with Starbuzz Media representing the event’s executing partner.
It will be a 2-day marathon performance that will highlight “a lyrical invasion covering a rundown of Kojo Antwi’s evergreen love songs, classics and modern hits, along with surprise opening acts” said Rhythm Nation to TheAfricanDream.net.
Rhythm Nation was launched by Mawuena Agbeblewu, the founder of Brand Africa Group to bring regular celebrations of Live Music and Performing Arts from the African continent and the Diaspora.
Through the development of regional, national and global events, the platform is optimistic about creating a tie between the African continent and the Diaspora.
“After several years of no response from knocking doors of major production companies to feature African and Diaspora music and performing arts, the visionaries behind Brand Africa Group decided to create their own Live Music Production platform to feature artists from Africa and the Diaspora we are passionate about,” said Mawuena to TheAfricanDream.net.
According to Brand Africa Group, the feature of Ghanaian musical legend, Kojo Antwi for the debut concert is a strategic move expected to launch Rhythm Nation’s desire to fill the void of a dedicated live music production platform that further puts African and Diasporan music on a global playlist.
Kojo Antwi is also set to perform at the 44th International Folk Festival in Fayetteville, NC on Sunday, September 25th and a concert in Atlanta on Saturday, October 1st.
