Musician physician Knii Lante ropes Crux Global on ‘I Just Want To’ retake

We have heard stories of engineers who are also writers, lawyers who are fashion designers, and the stories get interesting with one fine medical doctor from Ghana’s capital city of Accra who has been releasing hit reggae, soul, and Afropop songs back to back — Dr. Nii Lante Okunka Blankson is his name — this DocSician, if there is a word like that, is popularly known as Knii Lante in the music industry.

Knii Lante who has recorded songs with greats in the Ghanaian music industry like Michael Dwamena, Zapp Mallet, Blakk Rasta, and many others, has again released another sensational AfroBeats single from earlier this year titled ‘I Just Want To’.

The song is proudly distributed by Crux Global, a digital distribution and management company based in the United Kingdom (UK).

The doctor’s partnership with the UK-based Crux Global for the re-release of his single was to spice up the track, give it a larger audience, and tap into the network of Crux Global. As a hit Afrobeat single, ‘I Just Want To’ came to reaffirm the praise Knii Lante’s much-acclaimed ‘Humanity’ song gained which he dedicated to all frontline health workers in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking to the US-based media and research consulting firm TheAfricanDream.net about why he chose to do this with Crux Global, Knii Lante said: “I liked the fact that they are into helping creatives build sustainable businesses from their art, with the focus on expanding brands internationally. Plus working with them gives me access to marketing initiatives, whilst keeping a 100% of my rights and getting to spread and share great African music made in Ghana with the world.

Afful Tha Genius directed the official video for ‘I Just Want To’ with visuals which tell a love story in a calm mid-tempo melody. With about 150k views of the video on the DocSician’s YouTube channel, some fans of Knii Lante are saying “this particular song is the best Christmas gift he could give to us,” some people at TheAfricanDream.net can’t help but agree…
