MOBA-USA targeting $100k at 3rd annual fundraiser for Mfantsipim school

The Mfantsipim School Old Boys Association in the United States of America (MOBA-USA) will for the third year in a row this year gather in Maryland (MD), USA, over the Memorial Day weekend holiday for their fundraiser activities for their school in Ghana.

This year’s 3-day conference of MOBA-USA kicks off May 24th – 26th, 2019 at Martin’s Crosswinds located at 7400 Greenway Center Drive in Greenbelt, MD under the theme “E-learning launch at Mfantsipim School… a game changer in second cycle institutions.

Mr. Kodwo Ghartey-Tagoe of MOBA ’80 will be Chairman for the event while Dr. Kwasi Debra of MOBA ’76 will be a keynote speaker.

Famed Ghanaian A-list actress Joselyn Dumas will be adding a special touch to the event this year as co-host of the show as she joins host from last year Dr. Yaw Berko (MOBA ’89) to attempt to aid the school increase the $35,000 cash raised from last year the $100k targeted by MOBA-USA this year. Ekow Akyeampong aka DJ FISHO will be providing music for the event will this year.

MOBA-USA thanked current and old students, sympathizers and well-wishers including sponsors like Ethiopian Airline, Cape Coast Cuisine, and media partners TheAfricanDream.net for supporting the event this year again and donate to their GoFundMe. They urged all to continue showing their love and support by purchasing tickets or visit their official website at mobausa.org to make donations.

Other activities lined up this year are School’s Reunion (Yankee Edition) to be presented by Mix Master Berto on May 24 at Akwaaba Lounge in Waashington DC featuring old students of MOBA-USA and over a dozen Ghanaian senior high schools and three universities and the first intercollegiate reunion happening May 26, 2019 at University of Maryland’s Acredale Park.

Old students of elite Ghanaian high schools like ADISCO (Adisadel College), KWABOTWE (Mfantsipim), and AUGUSCO (Saint Augustines) will participate in games and networking and fun activities in the Diaspora.

MOBA-USA a not for profit incorporated in the US, is the alumni network of old students of Mfantsipim School resident in the United States who connect annually to volunteer time and support for their alma mater, Mfantsipim School.
