Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo appointed GMA-USA Awards Board Chair

The Executive Board of Ghana Music Awards – USA has announced that Mr. Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo will be stepping in as the new Board Chairman of the annual awards ceremony. 

The statement was made public following a press statement signed by Kusi Mensah (Capito) Chief Operating Officer, GMA-USA. Mr. Asamoah-Baidoo, a media professional with an extensive background in public relations and communications is expected to bring valuable experience to his new role. 

“His significant contributions to the creative industry, working with various brands, artists, and events, align seamlessly with the vision of the Ghana Music Awards – USA,” said Mr. Mensah. 

The awards ceremony is dedicated to recognizing and honouring the achievements of Ghanaian musicians and artists, both in Ghana and in the diaspora. It shows the best of Ghanaian music, featuring performances by some of the biggest names in the industry.

Now in its 5th edition, the awards will also recognize the contributions of Ghanaian stars in other fields, including sports, fashion, and entertainment. It is a true celebration of the vibrant and diverse culture of Ghana, and a testament to the talent and creativity of its people, according to the organisers. 

As Chairman, Mr. Asamoah-Baidoo will lead a distinguished team overseeing the categorization and nomination process for the 5th edition of the awards ceremony scheduled for August 20.

The board will include notable figures such as Mike Tamakloe (CEO of MustBeFiveRadio USA), Mr. Jusha Tigo (Programs Director Adom FM Ghana), Mr David Kyei (Kaywa- Renowned Music Producer), Frank Kwabena Owusu (Franky5 – Astute Media Personality and Broadcaster Ghana), Mrs Whitney Boakye Mensah (Media Personality Ghana), and Mr Nathan Pryce (Musician and Media Personality USA). 

Others include: Mr Kwame Micky (Renowned Sound Producer USA), Mr Halifax Ansah- Addo (Astute Broadcaster and Media Personality), Mr Emmanuel Mensah (Capito – Chief Operations Officer GMA-USA), Dennis Boafo (Don D- CEO Ghana Music Awards USA) and Jeeje Hagan as the Board secretary. 

“The Executive Board expresses full confidence in Mr. Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo’s ability to effectively guide the Awards Board, ensuring the continued success and growth of the Ghana Music Awards – USA,” said Mr. Mensah. 

The other members of the GMA-USA team are Nana Poku Ashis as the Communications Director, Papa Bills as Country Representative and Eugene Osafo Nkansah as the official blogger for the 5th edition.

The official nominees announcement for the 5th edition of GMA-USA Awards is scheduled for April 20, 2024 in New Jersey, marking a significant milestone in recognizing and celebrating excellence in the Ghanaian music industry.
