Ghanaian Daniel Ayittah joins Recording Academy’s 2025 Class

Ghanaian gospel audio engineer, and founder of Outluk Records, Daniel Ayittah, has been announced as part of Recording Academy’s 2025 New Member Class, making history in Ghana’s gospel music. The initiative welcomes artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, and other music professionals annually to participate in the Academy’s activities, including voting for GRAMMY nominations and awards.
As a member of the 2025 class, Ayittah will submit work for GRAMMY consideration, and engage in advocacy, education, and diversity initiatives. He will also participate in the Online Entry Process (OEP) for the 2026 GRAMMYs, where members can submit eligible recordings and music videos for consideration.
Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, Ayittah’s passion for music began at an early age. His journey into audio engineering started modestly, experimenting with basic equipment while studying at university. Determined to refine his craft, Ayittah invested countless hours mastering mixing and production techniques, driven by a vision to elevate African gospel music on the global stage.
Expressing his gratitude, Ayittah shared, “I’m honoured and humbled to join the Recording Academy’s 2025 New Member Class, an inspiring global community shaping the future of music.”
He reflected on his journey, saying, “This milestone goes beyond personal achievement; it represents every late night in the studio, every mix revision, and the unwavering support I’ve received.”
He also emphasized the new responsibilities his membership entails: “Being part of the Academy gives me a voice in the GRAMMY Awards process and a platform to advocate for our industry, mentor upcoming engineers, support my peers, and continue growing professionally.”
The Recording Academy has intensified its commitment to diversity and inclusion within its membership and voting body. Ayittah joins a list of Ghanaians that have made this shortlist, including Kofi Boachie-Ansah II who was part of the Recording Academy’s 2024 Voting Member Class.
Over the last decade, Ayittah has become one of Africa’s most respected gospel mix engineers. Starting from a modest setup, he transformed Outluk Records in Accra into a thriving production house, collaborating with some of the continent’s top gospel artists such as Joe Mettle, Dunsin Oyekan, Sinach, Victoria Orenze, Moses Bliss, CalledOut Music, KaeStrings, Prospa Ochimana, Preye Odede, and Daniel Ojo.
His pursuit of excellence led him to Nashville, Tennessee, where he trained with renowned engineers including John “Yosh” Jaszcz, Randy Poole, Jon Blass, Adam David Smith, and AyRon Lewis. These experiences helped sharpen his skills and solidify his standing in both African and international gospel music circles.
Under Ayittah’s leadership, Outluk Records has evolved into a creative hub known for its sonic clarity and emotional depth. He aims to launch mentorship programs and educational workshops across Africa, complemented by online masterclasses designed for aspiring audio engineers.
