How Tecknikal got lockdown deal with Mugeez Extrial Music amid COVID-19

Tecknikal has always had a passion for music since his early school years where he used to perform freestyles on stage during entertainment nights back when he was a student at Kumasi Anglican Senior High School around 2012 in Ghana.

Tecknikal who was born Earl Owusu Ankrah, moved to Columbus, Ohio in the United States at age 15, and continued to show great interest in music by participating in Black History Month activities in where he exhibited his musical talents in rap music at his high school, Westerville South Senior High.

His desire to go professional received a boost when he met award-winning act Mugeez of R2bees in 2017 in the States through a mutual friend. After maintaining a cordial relationship and proving himself, the time was just right for the next level when in mid-2019 Tecknikal visited Ghana to see family after 6 years in Columbus, Ohio.

It’s great to be the first signee to a record label owned by one of Ghana’s greatest artist from the R2bees family that has churned hits after hits for over a decade. I know I’ve stepped into big shoes but being the perfectionist that he is, I know I’ve got nothing to worry about working with Mugeez as he allows my talent to develop naturally and professional,” Tecknikal explained.

It was during that trip to Ghana when Mugeez showed a higher interest in signing Tecknikal onto his freshly established music recording label, Extrial Music Entertainment which was formed in April 2019.
