What happens when we eat healthily?

According to WHO, consuming a healthy diet throughout the life course helps to prevent malnutrition in all its forms as well as a range of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and conditions. However, increased production of processed foods, rapid urbanization and changing lifestyles have led to a shift in dietary patterns. People are now consuming more foods high in energy, fats, free sugars and salt, and many people do not eat enough fruit, vegetables and other dietary fiber such as whole grains.

Eating healthy goes beyond dieting (weight loss or maintaining weight) eating healthy helps us to feel good physically and mentally. Eating healthy increases blood flow to the brain, which helps prevent brain diseases 

Living a healthy lifestyle can help prevent chronic diseases and long-term illnesses. Taking care of your health is important and one of the ways this can be achieved is through healthy eating. Healthy eating habits require that people eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fats, proteins, and starches. Note that healthy eating requires that you’re mindful of not just what you eat and drink, but also how it is prepared.
