Book review — “Check the Fats – Eliminate Chronic Diseases” By Dr. Bernard Kwabi-Addo

With increasing chronic health complications, a stable health has come under major deterrence – from parts of human body to complete organic failures. There’s however a new book that meticulously throws light on this, with a wealth of medical resources on obesity and dietary requirements. It’s requiring you to check your facts and aptly named “Check the Fats.”

The book “Check the Fats – Eliminate Chronic Diseases” By Dr. Bernard Kwabi-Addo is a thorough written one with easy to digest explanations, coming from an expert in the field. Readers are at first instance introduced to obesity in medical definitions so they can be familiar with how their internal system works in connection to it. Explaining how the human body has devised a complicated and interconnected metabolic system, and why it’s necessary to maintain them is beautifully broken down.

Hormones, gut microbiota, circadian rhythm/sleep pattern, hereditary features, and exposures to the current obesogenic environment all have a role in controlling energy intake from diet, energy expenditure, and energy storage in the form of fat. As a result, any of these systems that are disrupted can and do lead to obesity and chronic diseases.

The book then illustrates what we can learn from our progenitors who didn’t have chronic ailments, providing evidenced scientific data to back up the claims. A strong connection was made between inadequate dietary components and sedentary lifestyle with the development of chronic diseases.

And by stating the obvious would mean that healthy dietary treatments can help to reverse and even eradicate chronic disorders, according to the resource and statistical data.

This makes the book essential for everyone concerned about their weight, diet and general wellbeing. “Check the Fats: Eliminate Chronic Diseases” is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to take control of their food and weight-loss journey in a stress-free and customised manner.

This isn’t the first book of Dr. Kwabi-Addo that has been reviewed by TheAfricanDream.net and like the others, he has expertly navigated the obesity debate, providing a combination of scientific facts and universally applicable practical ways to excellent eating habits. We highly recommend it!
