S.Africa’s CPC Stars are phenomenal, and the world is taking note
CPC Stars is an award-winning, vibrant youth dance and performance group from Christian Progressive College (CPC), a community-based school in Pretoria, South Africa. Christian Progressive College was founded in 1996 by partners MP Khelo and DK Nkosi.
It began as a remedial school helping learners excel in core subjects like Maths, Science, and English while instilling Christian values, discipline, and holistic growth. Over the years, CPC evolved into a dynamic institution that nurtures both academics and creativity.
CPC Stars as a group blends high-energy dance, singing, and music production with a strong focus on South African culture, amapiano beats, and heritage themes. What started as a school initiative has grown into an international sensation, proving that talent, teamwork, and opportunity can turn young dreamers into global stars.
CPC Stars was born from a simple student request when some learners asked the school owner to create a recording studio so they could make music. That spark quickly grew. The principal and team (including director Paddy Khelo) saw the potential and built a full performance platform.
Today, CPC Stars serves as a launchpad for young dancers, singers, and creatives, giving them professional training, music video production through the school’s P-Studios, and real-world performance opportunities. The group’s motto in action: “When stars align, magic happens.”
Their style mixes street dance, traditional South African moves, and contemporary amapiano grooves with there own popular tracks include “Our Heritage” (featuring Nompumiie), “Dubai,” “Umdansto,” “Contract,” “TAU,” and a powerful cover of Salif Keita’s “Africa.”

These videos showcase not just choreography but pride in African identity, with colorful costumes, synchronized routines, and infectious energy that resonates across continents. CPC Stars has racked up impressive wins in a short time, turning heads both locally and globally.
They were the Global Dance Supreme Winners 2024. The group claimed top honours in this prestigious international dance competition, establishing itself as one of the best youth crews worldwide.
In the Schools Division of the WSB (World Supremacy Battlegrounds), Dubai 2025 competition, CPC Stars earned a hard-fought silver medal (2nd place overall), outperforming teams from around the globe.
They became the first school from the entire African continent to achieve this level of recognition in the competition, and only the third school in the world to secure a silver in that category.
Their Dubai performances went viral, with clips showing the team dancing their hearts out and proudly flying the South African flag. With there Social Media Domination, their TikTok account (@christianprogressivecol3) has surpassed 3 million followers, with videos regularly hitting hundreds of thousands to millions of views.
Dance challenges, behind-the-scenes vlogs, and live performances keep fans hooked. Music and Streaming Success original songs and videos are available on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, where the official channel (ChristianProgressiveCollege) features polished productions.
Tracks like “Jika E Uganda” have built special bridges across Africa, including direct cultural shout-outs to Ugandan audiences.
The Stars have lit up stages at major events, including SunBet Arena shows (the Bal), heritage celebrations, and school galas and continue to collaborate with artists while balancing academics; some members even celebrate top student awards in subjects like Tourism and Mathematics.
These achievements are more than trophies. They represent years of discipline, rehearsals after school, and a school culture that values both education and the arts.
CPC Stars is more than a dance crew it’s a movement. The group creates opportunities for young people who might otherwise not have access to professional studios or international stages. It promotes unity, cultural pride, and the message that South African youth can compete (and win) on any platform.
Parents, teachers, and the Pretoria community rally behind them, turning every performance into a celebration of collective success. Their journey also highlights the power of progressive education: academics first, but creativity given equal space to flourish.
