The movie ‘One Night In Vegas’ hitting Nigeria theaters

Critically acclaimed Nollywood movie—‘One Night In Vegas’ is poised for release in Nigeria mid-July of 2014 after embarking on a successful global prepare tour that sent it to places like Ireland, the USA, Sierra Leone, Santa Domingo and Ghana.

The film has been widely publicized in the American media, receiving features on the front page of The Washington Post newspaper, the Voice Of America Studio 54, Channel 9 News TV and CCTV among others.Silverbird theaters will be responsible for distributing it to popular Nigerian movie theaters like and Genesis and others in big cities like Victoria Island and Abuja.

‘One Night In Vegas’ has been called a landmark film setting new standards of excellence on the African movie scene (especially in the genre known as Nollywood of Nigeria which is the world’s 3rd largest movie maker) by many tabloids. After announcing itself to the global audience, the movie finally heads to the home country of its Director, John Uche.

John Uche’s ‘One Night In Vegas’ hits cinemas across his homeland starting Friday, July 18, 2014, according to Koby Maxwell who is also the Producer of the movie which continues to promise theatre goers loads of excitement and twists.

Koby Maxwell, a Ghanaian musician, actor, producer and an all-round artiste describes ‘One Night In Vegas’ as more of “a collaborative alliance between Nollywood, the fledgling Ghanaian movie industry of Ghollywood and American global US giants Hollywood.”

According to Koby Maxwell, “the movie has received critical acclaim at various international film festivals and venues as a landmark film owing to its standards of excellence”. Starring in it is acclaimed actors across Africa like Ghollywood’s Yvonne Nelson, John Dumelo, Van Vicker and Koby Maxwell himself.

Other top-flight actors in the movie are Hollywood’s Jimmy Jean Louis who has also featured in American TV shows like the NBC’s ‘Heroes’ and CW’s ‘Arrow’, Miss Universe 2010 Sarodj Bertin and African King of Comedy Michael Blackson who is from Ghana.

One Night In Vegas focuses on a couple trying to enhance their troubled relationship with a trip to Las Vegas, things, however, don’t go as planned while there and contrary to the popular saying ‘what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas this time…” says Koby Maxwell.
